About KROK

KROK is a Licensing Examination, an obligatory part of state certification for awarding the qualification of doctor or pharmacist. Students who are preparing for the specialties “Medicine”, “Dentistry” and “Pharmacy” pass two separate test exams – “KROK–1” and “KROK–2“. The first examination “KROK–1” consists of basic biomedical sciences, the second – “KROK–2” consists of the basic professionally oriented disciplines. License exam is passed to determine the appropriate level of professional knowledge and skills of students in higher medical (pharmaceutical) educational institutions minimum needed level of qualification according to national qualification requirements. KROK Exam is conducted by the Testing Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This exam is divided into two parts; KROK–1 and KROK–2 and is conducted in three different languages.

KROK-1 exam is to be given by the medical students of Ukraine after completing 3rd year, continuing in the 4th year of their studies. KROK-2 exam is to be given by the medical students of Ukraine after completing 6th year. The exam provide license to the foreign medical students.

    KROK–1

    This is an exam on general logical order, which is passed after contemplating essential thing disciplines included for the KROK-1 test. Authorized coordinated exam “KROK-1 General medical training” incorporates test tasks on orders of 1-3 courses.

    Exam Pattern

    The KROK-1 exam is conducted by the Testing Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The total duration of the KROK-1 exam is 3 hours and 20 minutes. This exam contains 200 multiple-choice questions where the candidates are required to choose the correct answer for each question and are not allowed to mark more than one option for a question. If they do so, such attempt is considered incorrect. There is no negative marking for the wrong answer given by the candidates. For each correct answer, 1 mark is given.

    In the examination questions are given in multiple-choice question (MCQ) form. The number of questions is distributed according to the subjects. The distribution of questions is:

    Results

    The criterion “pass/fail” established by the Testing Center at the level of 60.5%. The number of exams in the booklet-200, routine time-200 minutes. All students who got the “Not Passed” result of the KROK-1 test. The candidate may retake the KROK-1 not more than 2 times as per the Ministry of Health, Ukraine. If a student is “Not Passed” after the third attempt the students are not admitted to the next examination session and expelled from the institution of higher education.

    KROK–2

    The assessment for proficient situated controls which compares to the preparation program for experts in the medicinal field. Authorized coordinated assessment KROK-2 “General medicinal preparing” incorporates.

    Exam Pattern

    This exam has given a stipulated exam pattern to the candidates. This examination can be given in Ukrainian, Russian and English. From the exam pattern Candidates can know about the type of questions asked in the exam, total number of questions, marking scheme of the exam, details about negative marking and other important information about the exam. With the help of exam pattern candidates can get familiar with the question paper. The duration of exam is 3 hours and 20 minutes. The number of questions in the exam paper is 200 multiple choice questions. The distribution of questions is discussed below:

    Results

    The criterion “pass/fail” built up by the Testing Center at the degree of 60.5%. The number of tests in the booklet – 200, routine time – 200 minutes. All students who got the “not passed” result of KROK-2 test, are permitted to finish the state graduation tests, yet don’t get a certificate of licensing KROK-2 test. If the candidate doesn’t pass state attestation, they don’t get the diploma of higher education institutions. The candidate may retake the KROK-2 test earlier than 1 year.

    Rules and Regulations given by Ministry of Health of Ukraine

    According to the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine “On request of conducting the incorporated assessments” from 29.04.2013:

    • Only students with no arrears in the educational plan. Especially in the controls of “KROK-1” are permitted to take the test “KROK-1”.
    • The exam “KROK-2” is just accessible to students with no arrears in the execution of the educational plan and with the presence of certificates of the license test “KROK-1”.
    • By the request on Higher Education Institutions students who will have academic arrears, won’t be permitted to compose the incorporated examinations.

    Students Preparation for KROK Exam

    The students must prepare for the exam according to the exam pattern. The system of preparation for this exam includes theoretical and test training of students. The exam is carried out with the use of full-time and online consulting, the system of remote Internet education and control level of preparation, printed manuals and guides, specially developed software, and others.

    KROK 2020

    As per the notice generated by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine KROK examination dates are revised for the examinees.

    KROK-1 which has to be appeared by the students after the completion of 3rd year. The new examination date of KROK-1 is 2nd week of September; the exact date is yet to be declared by the testing body.

    KROK-1 Exam Dates

    KORK-2 attempted by the students after the 6th year and after passing the exam they will be awarded the license. It will be conducted on two dates i.e. one date is for the international students who are in Ukraine and another date for international students who are outside Ukraine. The exam date for international students in Ukraine is the 1st – 3rd week of June. Its additional dates will be given for international students who are not in Ukraine and the date will be declared after the entire flight system gets started.
